Registration Advising for Electrical Engineering
TECHNICAL ELECTIVES
You need to take three (3) technical elective courses for a total of 9 hours credit. Older degree plans show two technical electives; however, students on older plans can substitute a third elective for ELEE 4308 if they so choose.
Technical elective courses need to be approved by your faculty advisor. The following courses will generally be acceptable:
ELEE 3370 Power Electronics
ELEE 4308 Electromechanical Systems
ELEE 4360 Microwave Systems Engineering
ELEE 4365 Digital Signal Processing
ELEE 4375 Introduction to VLSI Design
ELEE 4380 Computer Architecture
ELEE 4333 Topics in Electrical Engineering
You may repeat ELEE 4333 if the
topics vary. Recent topics include
Electrical Power System Design,
Fiber Optical Communications, and
Introduction to FPGAs.
Important: If you want to take courses
not on the above list, consult with and get approval from
your faculty advisor before enrolling.
We generally offer one tech elective course each fall and three elective courses each spring. Courses which do not have ten students enrolled by arena registration time will be cancelled.
There is no plan to regularly offer electives during the summer. Any offerings will be subject to administration approval; even if there is sufficient enrollment.
