BSEE Program Overview
We offer a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). The degree is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) , with a curriculum that provides a rigorous foundation for engineering practice as well as preparation for graduate studies. Our facilities include modern, well-equipped laboratories, housed with other engineering programs in a 115,000 sq ft building. The BSEE program includes a firm foundation in mathematics and basic sciences; a core of courses in digital design, linear circuits, and electronics; a strong four semester design laboratory sequence; study in the areas of microprocessors, controls, communications, and solid state devices; and a three course elective sequence to enable in depth work in one or more technical areas.
BSEE Program Objectives
The Electrical Engineering Program will produce graduates who:
- have the knowledge and technical skills required to be and to remain productive in the field of Electrical Engineering,
- are capable of functioning in diverse environments, and
- have an understanding of the importance of professionalism, ethics, safety and socioeconomic concerns in resolving technical problems.
To ensure that these objectives are met, we periodically assess our current students' progress in achieving specific outcomes. A detailed listing of the outcomes, how they are assessed, and our progress in meeting them is available in our ABET Self-Study and Outcomes Assessment Plan.
