Text Box: Charles A. Harlow received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of  Texas at Austin. After graduation, he joined the faculty of the Department of Electrical  Engineering at the University of Missouri in Columbia. While at the University of Missouri,  research programs in medical and industrial image analysis were developed. He conducted  extensive research with the bioengineering program and medical center at the University of  Missouri. Next he joined the faculty of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge as Professor  of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He established and served as Director of the Remote  Sensing and Image Processing Laboratory for 12 years and conducted research in  environmental  remote sensing.

Text Box: Charles Harlow has published extensively in the areas of computer vision, remote sensing, and  biomedical applications while working on research grants in these areas. He has worked on  research grants from the National Science Foundation, Army Office of Scientific Research, Air  Force Office of Scientific Research, the Defense Mapping Agency, National Aeronautics and  Space Agency, the National Institutes of Health, and numerous state agencies. He has published  extensively and has graduated numerous master’s and Ph.D. students.
